For most people, as it says on the box. Works great for my mom who always had great thick hair, but started thinning after age 63. She saw noticable growth and coverage within 3 months. Now me: I am 39 and my hair started shedding dramactically about 6 months ago. I was not alarmed initially, but it continued for longer than usual and I started noticing thinner areas around my crown. I started monoxidil 2 months ago (2 times a day, morning and a couple hours before bed). I also started on a routine of oral supplements (multi-vitamin, biotin, iron, d3,...just to name a few). Although others experienced discomfort at the the higher settings I had to turn it up to 5 to feel anything and it certainly wasn't painful. However it very much helped my knee pain. Do start at the lower settings however. Glad I bought it.
